44J Reserve: Late War

In early 1944, the improved 44J pattern reserve was introduced. Designed around the standard 24' canopy, it feature three carry handles, new elasticized canvas ripcord pocket, and a reinforced design.  The pack was more rectangular than the previous barrel  shaped 43H and   conducive to mass production. Although it first debuted in operation Market Garden, it was standard equipment on the 1945 Varsity drop in Germany.   This pack was used extensively into the postwar era on the T-7 troop system.
