Escape & Evasion Kit: D-day version
Originally developed by the highly-secretive MI9, escape and evasion kits (E&E) were one of the most prized pieces of equipment for downed airmen and paratroopers. In preparation for the Normandy D-day invasion, the new 44 "Maps Only" kit was developed in the spring of 1944. It contained the "Zones of France" map, escape compass, and miniature hacksaw blade. It was widely issued to paratroopers and airmen in preparation for D-day.
