A-3 Gunners strap

 
This restraint strap was developed specifically for waist gunners on heavy bombers. It was designed to be fastened to the interior of the aircraft to give more stability to gunners. These were also used to link  QAC harness and packs together in case the gunner was blown out of the aircraft without the chance to attach his parachute pack, as did indeed sometimes occur. This little-known item adds the final touches to AAF bomber crew displays.

This reproduction features the correct Type VIII cotton webbing and original claw snap hardware. Pulling down the circular safety washer disengages the claws, releasing the mini D-ring. Heavy 5-cord cotton stitching secures the adjustment adapter. The assembly is complete with all standard specification, date, and inspection stamps.
