QAS Parachute Pack
With the Quick Attachable Seat (QAS), Navy pilots could walk around the deck with the harness, leaving the pack inside the cockpit. This popular design replaced the older regular seat parachute and saw extensive use after it's adoption in 1943. The most common style was built by the famous Naval Aircraft Factory, although later versions were built by a variety of manufacturers.
This unique pack follows the original construction in all the details. Featuring beautiful color matched navy gray canvas and binding tape, it is sewn with period cotton thread. Built in the Naval Aircraft Factory style, it has the white, undyed reinforcement webbing and the distinctive ripcord pin flap held by bungee cords. The adjustable suspension strap easy clips onto the QAS harness with the ripcord readily accessible on the left hand side. Complete with the NAF data panel, stamps, and extensive rigger tackings throughout. Internally, the pack includes the hesitator loops, flaps, and all the little reinforcement detailing. Includes the pack tray, suspension strap, ripcord, and mini D-ring riser attachments.
