AN-6513 Harness

The Quick Attachable Chest  parachute (QAC) allowed aircrew to wear only the harness and move about unhindered by the weight of the parachute. If bailing out was required, the chest pack could be quickly snapped into place. The lightweight harness  had D-rings at the abdomen for attachment of the chest pack and suspended the wearer from the chest.  It was widely issued to crewman on a variety of aircraft, including PBY crews, rear gunners, and a variety of other personnel.

Over 60 feet custom woven webbing is painstakingly interlaced and layered to form the harness element.  An actual harness machine from the war creates authentic 7-class stitching with mil-spec ultra heavy 100% cotton thread. Custom forged steel fittings from the original blueprints ensure that every "click" of the buckles are an authentic sound straight from 1942.  The back pad is built with our custom dyed "battleship gray" tight weave canvas and genuine USA Scovill fasteners. Custom smooth weave HBT webs have the proper anti-fray end coatings - no detail is overlooked. Complete with all the part, date, and manufacturer, and inspection markings, hand stamped just like originals.  Includes instructional manual.
