NAVY QAS: "AN" Version

The Quick Attachable Seat, or QAS, was a Navy-designed harness which allowed the aviator to walk around wearing only the  harness. The bulky pack containing the parachute would stay in the aircraft, and could quickly be fastened after entering the cockpit.

This pattern uses the Army/Navy "AN" black dot webbing in the standard harness configuration adopted in 1943. The harness uses a rare original special lobed chest strap hook, and built with 7-class stitching.  period is the characteristic Navy style with the unique V-shaped chest strap and wrapped saddled configuration. The navy gray  back pad  with white webs and genuine Scovill snaps adds a final touch of authenticity.
