AN6513-1A Pack
The AN6513-1A chest pack was the second pattern container issued with the AN-6513 harness, superseding the cumbersome AN6513-1 square pack. Introduced in December 1942, it was standard issue by the end of 1943 and was used extensively until it was replaced by the A-3 in 1944. Heavily contoured end flaps and bias construction gave it the characteristic round barrel shape and enabled the pack to stretch slightly during packing.
The reproduction follows the original pattern, with the single-cut bias construction, heavily reinforced ripcord protector flap, and single small carry handle. It features AC drab canvas, original red painted ripcord, original end tabs, and original cone hardware. Internally, it is complete with web hesitator loops, secondary inspection and packing data pocket, and pilot chute flaps.
